MEET THE ARTIST
Jan Mucklestone believes that surrendering and saying ‘yes’ to life has allowed the magic of synchronicity to become her constant companion. It is an artistic path of interesting people and projects that began as a sketch artist for the legendary Edith Head, an eight time Academy Award winning Costume Designer at MCA Universal Studios.
Jan is an accomplished artist in multiple disciplines. A native of Seattle, Jan has been an illustrator for 40+ years. Earlier in her career, she was a noted fashion illustrator whose work was featured regularly in Women’s Wear Daily and California Apparel News. Jan has illustrated five published books including “All Pets Go to Heaven” by Sylvia Browne, and created the illustrations for ‘Jon Wilson’s the Restorer’s Journey’ for the documentary film series Life on the Water.
In addition, Jan has a men's product line called JPMucklestone, that you can shop at here.
Jan continues her passion of drawing to bring joy into the hearts and homes of her clients with her commission work. Contact Jan and see what magic she can create for you!
In 2008 Legend Films began their work on colorizing the 1942 black and white film classic, Holiday Inn, starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Jan’s contribution as a consultant for her expertise in fashion illustration and color sensibilities was integral to the success of the film’s transformation to color (watch video to see Jan featured in the documentary).
